Privacy Policy

1. Information we process

• Player information: player name, internal player identifier, profile information, Elo rating, game statistics, follows, blocks, and preferences.
• Chess activity: moves, PGN records, game identifiers, clocks, results, ratings, game history, and published game media.
• Community content: comments, reactions, likes, reports, moderation information, and other content you choose to publish.
• Purchase information: product identifiers, transaction identifiers, purchase status, environment, and Stars balance activity. We do not receive your complete payment-card number from Apple or Google.
• Camera and microphone: when you voluntarily enable Pinche Live, audio and video may be transmitted in real time to viewers. Pinche Chess does not activate these permissions for ordinary chess play.
• Technical information: IP address, timestamps, device and operating-system information, diagnostics, security events, and network logs reasonably required to operate and protect the service.

2. How we use information

• Operate real-time chess games and synchronize players.
• Create profiles, ratings, game history, videos, and community features.
• Provide Pinche Live streaming, comments, reactions, and moderation.
• Validate purchases, prevent duplicate credits, maintain Stars balances, and investigate refunds or fraud.
• Protect users, enforce our Terms, respond to reports, and maintain service security.
• Comply with legal, accounting, tax, and regulatory obligations.

3. Apple, RevenueCat, LiveKit, and service providers

Purchases may be processed by Apple and supported by RevenueCat. Live streaming may use LiveKit and related hosting infrastructure. We may use hosting, networking, analytics, security, and content-delivery providers only as reasonably necessary to operate the service. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations.

4. Camera and microphone

Camera and microphone access is optional. Permission is requested when a player chooses to enable Pinche Live. Your live transmission may be visible or audible to other users. Do not broadcast private, confidential, unlawful, or third-party material without authorization.

5. Purchases and Stars

Stars are consumable virtual items. Apple processes iOS payments. We receive transaction and product information needed to validate purchases and operate Stars functionality. Stars are not cryptocurrency, stored money, a bank account, or a gambling product.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose limited information to service providers, app stores, professional advisers, public authorities when legally required, or another entity involved in a lawful merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of the service.

7. Public information

Player names, Elo ratings, game results, published games, comments, reactions, and live transmissions may be publicly visible. Do not publish information you want to keep private.

8. Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain game and transaction integrity, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, satisfy accounting or legal duties, and preserve legitimately published historical records. Retention periods vary according to the type of information.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Pinche Chess is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to applicable law, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. Your choices and rights

You may decline camera or microphone permission and still play chess. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about our processing. Some game, publication, security, and transaction records may be retained where legally or operationally necessary.

12. International processing

The service is operated by a Delaware company and may process information in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. Appropriate safeguards are used where required by applicable law.

13. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The effective date above identifies the current version.
